About
About Intentional Phone.
This site is for people who are starting to wonder whether their phone is helping them, distracting them, or quietly shaping more of life than they meant to give it.
What this website is for
A lot of people start with the same idea: "Maybe I need a dumbphone." That can be the right answer, but it is not always the first answer. A very simple phone can also break things people still need, like maps, email, banking, rideshare, work messages, authentication codes, Google Voice, music, podcasts, or family communication.
Intentional Phone is meant to help you slow down before buying something. Start with the problem you are trying to solve. Then look at what your phone still needs to do, what you want to make harder, and what kind of device actually fits that situation.
The phone finder and comparison pages organize practical details about dumbphones, feature phones, e-ink phones, restricted smartphones, and child-safety phones. The articles explain phone habits, adult-content boundaries, digital detox, and kids' phones in plain language.
The goal is not to make every person use the same device. The goal is to help people choose phones, settings, and limits that serve their real life instead of constantly pulling them away from it.
About Andres
Intentional Phone is a personal research project by Andres Guerrero. Andres works in technology support and has spent a lot of time trying to make phones less distracting without breaking the tools people still need.
He has used minimalist launchers on smartphones and has tested or spent time with phones like the Nokia 225, CAT phones, and the Sonim XP3plus 5G. Those tests made one thing clear: the hard part is not just finding a phone with fewer apps. The hard part is finding the right tradeoff between calls, texts, maps, email, authentication apps, Google Voice, watch apps, carrier support, privacy, and real boundaries.
This site is where that research is being collected, cleaned up, and turned into something regular people can use.
